Promotion of the Book 1,000 Places to See before You Die

During a recent trip to the library in search for yet another book related to international study I stumbled upon an interesting book titled 1,000 Places to See before You Die by author Patricia Schultz.  This book is a New York Times Bestseller as it covers a wide array of sites to see around the globe.  In my opinion, Patricia did a great job of describing not only the typical artifact and historical sites in which she believed were important, but also the cultural sites as well.  Some examples of cultural sites that she included in her book were restaurants, hotels, inns, and gold clubs just to name a few.  I found this to be interesting because I believe that in order to truly encounter everything that a culture has to offer then study abroad students must place themselves in everyday cultural settings that often get overlooked by traditional tourists, such as playing a round of golf in England.  On the other hand, Patricia does still include traditional major sites to see around the globe as is found in any sightseeing book.  Whether the site to see was major or minor Patricia still did an outstanding job of describing why a selection made the cut, the history of the sites in which she recommends readers to see, and other small details which would be overlooked by travelers or study abroad students in a particular setting.  This is an international book which would be useful for study abroad students who are living in any country around the world as Patricia Schultz lists and depicts amazing places to see for all international students’ learning experience.
